Foundation66 on BBC Radio London
15 December 2011
Foundation66 was the focus of a BBC Radio London news feature this week when the charity's Greg Scott was interviewed for the breakfast programme about the risks of alcohol.
Greg, who runs Foundation66’s Community Alcohol Support Service (CASS), Hammersmith and Fulham, made an appearance on BBC London radio’s breakfast show this morning with Gaby Roslin, Paul Ross and BBC TV’s Inside Out London presenter, Wendy Hurrell.
Wendy was on the show to discuss the progress of her alcohol free ‘Dry December’. She recently visited CASS to learn about our services for our older people experiencing difficulties with alcohol.
Greg was invited to talk about Foundation66 and its services, especially for older people, and to discuss alcohol and its place in society more generally.
Talking about her ‘Dry December’, Wendy said: “I’m feeling a little bit sharper, I’m feeling a little less bloated. It’s easier to get up the mornings. It is quite difficult socially though.”
Greg told listeners: “Alcohol is very much embedded in our culture. For us as a service, we’ve got [to deal with] clear physical and dependency problems with alcohol, but there’s a lot of people where we’ve got a health message we’re not able to access.”
