Long Yard Detox relocates to Marylebone during redevelopment
27 November 2009
Foundation66's Long Yard Residential Care Service will temporarily relocate to Marylebone during a major development and refurbishment of the service. This follows planning permission approval from Camden Borough council for an extension of the central London detox service from 13 to18 beds.
During the 6 month re-development Long Yard will be temporarily housed at the Capio Nightingale Hospital, Marylebone. All staff, medical services and supporting services currently provided at Long Yard will continue to operate as usual from the new premises. The service will be contactable on the same phone and fax numbers.
Clients currently at Long Yard in residential care are to be relocated to the self-contained 14 bed unit at Capio Nightingale on the 1st December 2009, and are expected to return to the expanded Long Yard service in Holborn in May 2010.
Foundation66 area manager Radomir Lazarevich spoke positively of the move: "After 5 years of pursuing the project, development is finally going ahead. Service users are being relocated to one of the most reputable private hospitals in the field to continue to offer all of the quality services available at Long Yard."
The increased capacity from the extension will provide a further 5 beds and will allow the project to accommodate approximately 130 additional service-users per year, increasing total treatment capacity for treatment to 468 per year.
