Camden Tenancy Support
Camden Tenancy Support Service is a floating support/outreach Support for tenants and homeowners at risk of losing their homes due to drug and alcohol misuse. The service supports residents of the London Borough of Camden
What we do
We support clients to:
- Resolve housing problems (e.g. prevention of eviction).
- Sustain their tenancies and leases independently.
- Take up treatment options for drug and alcohol problems (e.g. detox, rehab, counseling, therapy, self-help).
- Maximize income (e.g. applying for entitled benefits and backdating).
- Tackle ‘underlying' issues (e.g. antisocial behaviour, domestic violence, lifestyle, crime, child protection, debt management, budgeting, and welfare benefit problems).
- Find a meaningful occupation (e.g. study, voluntary work, re-training).
Who we help
We help tenants and homeowners living in Camden who are at risk of eviction or repossession because of substance misuse. We provide quality planned support to individuals aged 18+ for up to 2 years.
How we work
We aim to help clients get back on their feet so they can address their problems independently. We can assist for up to 2 years to help prevent evictions or repossessions and to provide effective treatment options enabling our clients to break the cycle of addiction whilst sustaining their housing independently. We also encourage clients to resolve underlying problems that reduce their quality of their life and that of those around them (e.g. antisocial behaviour, domestic violence, lifestyle crime, child protection, debt management, and budgeting, family estrangement). We can also help clients prepare for possible job opportunities with training courses and voluntary work when they feel ready.
Referral
Clients can refer themselves directly, or referrals can be made from any agency concerned with the client. Our referral form is available below as a word document.
