Elephant & Castle Community Alcohol Service
Elephant & Castle Community Alchol Serivce offers a range of treatments to help adults understand and resolve their problem alcohol use. We offer our services to adult residents of the London Borough of Southwark.
What we do
We carry out an assessment to identify the service user's needs and then produce a plan to meet them. This may include; one-to-one support, group sessions, entering our six week structured day-programme referral on to other sources of help or support, advice and information on related matters.
How we work
- One-to-one support -staff work closely with clients on an individual basis to address their harmful drinking or to prepare them for detox.
- Structured Day Programme - our day programme has three distinct phases to help people to make positive life changes:
- Motivation and Stabilisation - individual support services
- Six-week stuctured day programme - with groups sessions, counselling, workshops and individual support.
- Aftercare - follow up sessions, referral into eduction employment and training schemes and counselling
- Groups - topic-based group sessions repeated regularly throughout the year for people who are alcohol free on the day
- Counselling - we provide a confidential and safe environment, with a qualified counsellor, to explore concerns in clients' lives
- Advice and access to other services - we refer clients on to other specialist support such as inpatient detox and other local services
- Complementary therapies - we offer a range of therapies to complement the above services.
Referral to
Individuals can register for support by phone or by visiting us during our opening hours. Referrals are also accepted from:
- General Pracitioners
- Health & Social Care professionals
- Voluntary, statutory and private sector organisations via Foundation66 agency referral forms.
