People's Project

People's Project offers training courses and one-to-one support to help service users access employment opportunities. People's Project is funded by London Councils and the European Social Fund

What we do at People's Project

This project offers participants the opportunity to engage in training courses that are mapped to individual need. These include NCFE accredited courses in drug and alcohol awareness and peer mentoring. Other workshops focus on identifying your potential and confidence building.

Skills for future employment

Skills for Future Employment is a 5-day course that prepares service users to re-enter the workplace with updated skills and renewed confidence. Additionally, up to six individual one-to-one sessions can be offered. This ensures six  months of post-training support, to help people access continued support from specialists who understand the barriers to employment that the service users of Foundation66 face.

Who People's Project helps

People's Project is offered to service users based in the London Boroughs of:

  • Lewisham,
  • Croydon,
  • Redbridge
  • Wandsworth

It will run at certain times in each borough throughout 2010 - 2012, so service users will need to check with their keyworker when the programme will be happening in their borough.

How People's Project works

People's Project understands the barriers to employment that our service users face. We have also built strong relationships with prospective employers and understand their needs. By tailoring our courses, we create an environment that helps individuals identify their unique skills and their areas for development.

Our unique experience with the field of substance misuse means we can respond with knowledge and understanding, creating the ideal conditions for people to move on with their lives.

Accessing the project

Keyworkers in each service will have all the necessary information to help people refer themselves. Leaflets and contact details of the staff members running the scheme will also be made available and prospective participants

Where we are

The Workforce Development Team is based at our Central Office in London Bridge, however training courses may be run at a variety of venues. Times, dates and locations will be confirmed when a service user is referred.
